McCain on Torture Ban: "What this country needs is more redundant, feel-good, placebo legislation."

"I'll turn down no talk show invitation in my quest to further insult the intelligence of the American voter," declares courageous maverick.

"I'm asking every American to help me and Senators Kennedy, Kerry, Durbin, Hagel, and Reid to ignore existing restraints and oversights already in place, turn the isolated actions of a few into the perceived standard operating procedure of the American military, and most importantly to hamstring those in charge of legally extracting sensitive information from our enemies."

Any comparisons of Hanoi Hilton to Abu Ghraib are laughable.

McCain hasn't gone this far, but just about there. Let's face it. He is a pro-Life liberal who never met a TV camera he didn't like.

He understands better than most how much the MSM will fawn over you when you're a "Republican" who stands outside the party line.

McCain isn't the only Veteran of that war - and not the only to sustain emotional and physical injury either.

My father (a Combat V decorated Marine infantry officer) and many others can tell you in great detail how wrong McCain is about our forces and how they conduct themselves.

I trust them over any politician anyday.
