It's true Howard Stern has LOW standards -- but people do listen to his show in large numbers. Why, I don't know?

But people voted in Ronald Reagan twice for president, so taste really has nothing to do it with it, does it?

As for real jerks on the radio, how about ole Rush Limbaugh:

Rush Accuses USO of Left Wing Tilt

Yet again Limbaugh lashed out wildly to throw red meat to the listeners. This time, the target was the USO (United Service Organizations).

You know, the USO does these trips but I look at who the USO takes and I realize I don't have a prayer to go on a USO trip. I have yet to see a conservative commentator on a USO trip. I see a bunch of liberals and leftists. So I didn't even bother with the USO, and so the trip has been put together.

While it is true that Al Franken went on a USO trip, it is not true it is a bunch of "liberals and leftists". Here is a sample of the people the USO has secured to go to places such as Iraq and Afghanistan to entertain the troops....

Sergeant Major of the Army Kenneth Preston
Karri Turner
John "Bradshaw" Layfield™ (JBL™)
Darryl Worley
Mark Willis and the U.S. Army Band
John Elway
Leeann Tweeden
Blake Clark
General Richard B. Myers
"Sopranos" stars James Gandolfini and Tony Sirico
Wayne Newton
Rob Schneider
Neal McCoy

While there are "liberals and leftists" who entertain and support the troops through the USO, Limbaugh's characterization harldy stands up to even meager scrutiny. As an aside, Limbaugh and the right likes to yammer and yap insisting "liberals don't support the troops". Here they are and as recognized by Limbaugh, going to places such as Iraq and Afghanistan to in fact support the troops.

It is amazing that anyone puts much credence in what this guy says. It is really all about appealing to a market segment, not coherent information.
