Stanley "Tookie" Williams and his Forgotten Victims

Snoop Dogg, Farrakhan rally supporters as Crips co-founder faces execution December 13th for murder of four in 1979.

Louis Farrakhan with Williams at San Quentin

Alvin Owen, Thsai-Shai Yang, Yen-I Yang, and Yee Chen Lin.

These are the names of the people Tookie Williams killed in 1979 then mocked as they lay dying. The co-founder of the most bloody gang empire in American history, the Crips, now faces execution on December 13th.

From Michelle Malkin:
Williams was convicted of murdering four innocent bystanders with a sawed-off shotgun in 1979. There was nothing peaceful or compassionate about the way Alvin Owen, Thsai-Shai Yang, Yen-I Yang and Yee Chen Lin died. Owen was a white teen-age clerk at a 7-11 convenience store, shot twice in the back of the head -- execution-style -- as he lay unarmed on the floor during a hold-up. A witness testified that Williams mocked the gurgling sounds Owen made as he lay dying. "You should have heard the way he sounded when I shot him," the witness quoted Williams.

The Yangs were Taiwanese immigrants who, along with their daughter Yee Chen Lin, were gunned down during a motel robbery two weeks after Owen died. Half of the daughter's face was blown off by the shotgun blasts, former L.A. County Deputy District Attorney Robert Martin told me in an interview this week. Williams called them "Buddhaheads," Martin recounted, and robbed them of petty cash.

I would post his victims' photos, but none exist on-line that I can find. Very little biographical information is available either.

However, search for "Tookie Williams" on Google and you'll get
hundreds of sites (mostly Leftist) celebrating this unrepentant murderer [he has never expressed remorse for the killings or apologized to the victims' families] and his efforts to educate young people on gang violence.
Typical treatment from Talk Left:
Stanley (Tookie) Williams was the leader of the Crips in south central LA. He's been on death row for 23 years. While in jail, he became an anti-gang activist, wrote children's books and was nominated by a member of the Swiss Parliament for the Nobel Prize. In 1999, he was visited by Winnie Mandela.
ost sites you find while searching fail even to mention 17-year-old Owen, the Yangs, or their 12-year-old daughter, Chen Lin - all shot and killed by Williams. No celebrities pleading their cases.

Jamie Foxx starred in a film released in 2003 about the gang leader's life entitled Redemption. This biopic screened at Sundance to favorable reviews and Winnie Mandela even makes an appearance in it. Now, Snoop Dog plans to release a new song on Williams' behalf.

Still a Crip: Snoop Dogg at rally to save Williams

Fair enough. Snoop Dogg was once an active Crip gang member. He claims that Tookie helped him understand the cycle of violence that gangs promote and sustain. Has Snoop Dog renounced gang violence and his association with the Crips? Judge for yourself as Snoop explains in the 2003 hit song "P.I.M.P" with onetime drug courier, 50 Cent:

Yea bitch I got my now & later gators on
I'm bout to show you how my pimp hand is way strong
You dead wrong if you think that pimpin gonna die
12 piece with a 100 whores by my side
I'm down with that nigga 50 like I'm down with blue
F*ck cuz naw nigga motherf*ck you

I dont know what you heard about me
But a bitch cant get a blood up out of me
I drive a Cadillac wear a perm cuz I'm a G
And I'm a motherf*ckin
(A partial list of songs by Snoop Dogg where he specifically glorifies the Crips within his lyrics can be found here, here, here, here, here, and here.)

It appears Tookie's lessons have fallen on deaf ears. Snoop's "change of heart" is betrayed by his own words. A truly changed Snoop Dogg might have convinced many observers to reconsider this prisoner's fate.

Ironically, the one who may be betrayed ultimately by Snoop's insincere pleadings and glorification of Crip culture is Williams himself.
"The usual moral distinctions between good and bad are simply drowned in a maudlin emotion in which we feel more sympathy for the murderer than the murdered, the adulterer than the betrayed, and where we have actually come to believe that the true guilty party - the one who caused it all is somehow the victim and not the perpetrator of the crime." --Robert Fitch

Democrats Now "Asking Jeeves" for Core Principles

The Therapist Strikes Again:

"The idea is a simple one at its roots. Democrats hoping to strike a public balancing act between sedition and faux patriotism are simply utilizing two of the biggest search engines, Google, and/or Jeeves, the fictitious online butler that promises answers to all conundrums clearly expressed in the search field."

In a daring pre-dawn Watergate style break-in, WHYGRR commandos have recovered additional Jeeves search queries from the Apple powerbooks used by top DNC leaders:

"What are principles?"
"How to lose wars"
"Where to score hot undergraduates"
"Earth Shoes"
"Obfuscating Communist objectives"
"When did Che Guevara play guitar for Santana?"
"Bong maintenance"
"Faux intellectual insights"

Bursting the Democrat's Housing Bubble

Note to DNC and Please campaign on this in 2006.

........image courtesy

You are paying more for a house these days, but paying more is a problem only when you are getting less for your money. Latest housing numbers indicate housing values are at an all time high - exactly the opposite of what the New York Times' Paul Krugman would have us believe.

Average American Home in 1950: $59, 575 (983 sq. ft.) = 2 BR, 1 BA, 1-car garage
Average American Home in 2005: $138, 601 (2,330 sq. ft.) = 3 BR, 2 BA, Central AC, 2-car garage

Anomaly? Not hardly. It's a 55 year old trend.

Housing prices..........+132%
Square Footage........+137%
Household Income...+113%
Heating Costs...........-23%

Hmmm...But, I thought heating costs were at an all time high? See below more statistics the Democrats and their media don't talk about. The sky is hardly falling, Chicken Little.

A comparison of housing values in 1950 vs. 2oo5.

Republican Refusal to Honor Bruce Springsteen a Complete Mystery

Earnest rocker may be hapless victim of mean-spirited Republican squares who don't like rock music or dancing.

AP writer Donna De La Cruz is mystified in her piece yesterday why some Republicans may not support "an effort by New Jersey's two Democratic senators to honor the veteran rocker."

This editorial version of the movie Footloose piece of investigative journalism doesn't mention what the Democratic effort is exactly or offer any quotes from Republicans explaining their position on it.

Ms. De La Cruz concludes Republicans "are apparently still miffed a year after the Boss lent his voice to the campaign of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry."

Democratic sponsors John Corzine and Frank Lautenberg express their befuddlement too stating simply, "even if the Republicans don't like (Springsteen's) tunes, I would hope they appreciated his contributions to American culture."

Please accept my apology, Bruce. It is a shame that some on the political Right may still be sore at you for simply lending your voice (and 44 million) to the Kerry campaign. After all, courageous celebrities like yourself should never have to suffer the indignity of paying a price for your convictions.

Footnote - A Very Incomplete Summary of the Boss' record on Republicans:

The night after Ronald Reagan was first elected President in 1980, Springsteen told an audience in Arizona, "I don't know what you guys think about what happened last night, but I think it's pretty frightening."

During a concert in 1988, The Boss pledged support for Michael Dukakis and told audience members, "Don't vote for that f*cking Bush."

Springsteen started his Sept. 15, 2003 concert at Shea Stadium with a recorded audio loop of President Bush repeating the words "mass destruction, war and peace."

Bruce Springsteen told a crowd of 50,000 New Yorkers on October 4th, 2003 to "shout a little louder if you want the President impeached," and "Let's get a man in the White House who knows how to handle this mess!"

August 2004, Springsteen explained he was joining the Vote for Change music tour because "we dived headlong into an unnecessary war in Iraq, offering up the lives of our young men and women under circumstances that are now discredited."

From 2004, Springsteen cited the widely discredited notion President Bush "will not honor our fallen dead by attending any funerals or even by permitting photos of their flag-draped coffins."

Springsteen from a September 2004 Rolling Stone interview, "I felt we had been misled. I felt [the Bush Administration] had been fundamentally dishonest and had frightened and manipulated the American people into war."

From October 2004, "We're here to raise our voices loud and clear," said Springsteen. "We want to change our government."

A public service announcement in 2004 featured Springsteen telling viewers that all are welcome at the shows, "except for Dick Cheney. I think that's where I draw the line."

Iraq Pullout Voted Down 403-3 in House

Democrats: "How dare you ask us to vote for the record. Can't we just continue complaining instead?"

John "Hawk" Murtha not among the three who voted for a pullout? I guess he "voted for it before he voted against it" too.

"Rep. Murtha went on MSNBC’s “Hardball” to discuss his views on this subject with Chris Matthews. In this interview, not only did Rep. Murtha state that he would not have voted for the war resolution knowing what he knew "now," but also, contrary to assertions made by many members of Congress of late -- as well as much of the mainstream media -- he saw "all" of the intelligence reports: "I mean, I'm not blaming anybody else because I saw all the intelligence reports. All of them indicated we had imminent danger."

Rep. Murtha, welcome to your own words. Welcome to your "Swiftboating."

CIA Interrogation Techniques vs. Saddam's Interrogation Techniques

Compare and contrast the interrogation techniques of American forces vs. those of Saddam Hussein.

From ABC News:

"The CIA sources described a list of six "Enhanced Interrogation Techniques" instituted in mid-March 2002 and used, they said, on a dozen top al Qaeda targets incarcerated in isolation at secret locations on military bases in regions from Asia to Eastern Europe. According to the sources, only a handful of CIA interrogators are trained and authorized to use the techniques:

The Attention Grab: The interrogator forcefully grabs the shirt front of the prisoner and shakes him.

Attention Slap: An open-handed slap aimed at causing pain and triggering fear.

The Belly Slap: A hard open-handed slap to the stomach. The aim is to cause pain, but not internal injury. Doctors consulted advised against using a punch, which could cause lasting internal damage.

Long Time Standing: This technique is described as among the most effective. Prisoners are forced to stand, handcuffed and with their feet shackled to an eye bolt in the floor for more than 40 hours. Exhaustion and sleep deprivation are effective in yielding confessions.

The Cold Cell: The prisoner is left to stand naked in a cell kept near 50 degrees. Throughout the time in the cell the prisoner is doused with cold water.

Water Boarding: The prisoner is bound to an inclined board, feet raised and head slightly below the feet. Cellophane is wrapped over the prisoner's face and water is poured over him. Unavoidably, the gag reflex kicks in and a terrifying fear of drowning leads to almost instant pleas to bring the treatment to a halt."

Below is a list of the common techniques used by Saddam's henchmen in pre-invasion Iraq: (via WorldNetDaily)

Medical experimentation
Hammering nails into the fingers and hands
Amputating sex organs or breasts with an electric carving knife
Spraying insecticides into a victim's eyes
Branding with a hot iron
Committing rape while the victim's spouse is forced to watch
Pouring boiling water into the victim's rectum
Nailing the tongue to a wooden board
Extracting teeth with pliers
Using bees and scorpions to sting naked children in front of their parents

It's important to remember that these techniques were used on everyone from petty thieves to murderers to political opponents and even prostitutes. Not surprisingly, the Fedayeen Saddam publicly beheaded over 200 prostitutes in 2001, then deposited their severed heads on the doorsteps of their family's homes.

Enough moral equivalency.

Saddam Offered Asylum to Osama bin Laden

Instupundit: "I don't know how much this matters now, except as a reminder that the revisionist nobody-could-imagine-Saddam-and-Al-Qaeda-in-alliance claim isn't exactly supported by the history."

Via CNN from 1999: "Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has offered asylum to bin Laden, who openly supports Iraq against the Western powers."

Reynolds ponders, "Funny that we haven't heard more about this." Funny indeed.

Democratic "Hawk" Makes Passionate Plea for Surrender...Again

Major Media Labels Congressman John Murtha a "War Hawk" Despite his Long History Of Opposition to the Iraq War.

"The network evening news broadcasts tonight all lead with Congressman John Murtha’s call for the immediate removal of American troops from Iraq. Yet, they seemed disinterested in focusing much attention on Rep. Murtha's “
denouncement” of the Iraq war more than a year ago.

The reality is that Rep. Murtha first voiced his displeasure with how things were going in Iraq on September 16, 2003, when he called for the immediate firing of President Bush’s defense leadership team. The network news organizations this evening chose not to inform their viewers of this, and, instead, implied that Rep. Murtha’s statements today were recent revelations on his part.

The day after his denouncement, "Murtha went on MSNBC’s Hardball in 2003 to discuss his views on this subject with Chris Matthews. In this interview, not only did Rep. Murtha state that he would have not voted for the war resolution knowing what he knew in September 2003, but, contrary to assertions by many members of Congress of late, as well as much of the media, he saw "all" of the intelligence reports:

Murtha then said this: "I mean, I'm not blaming anybody else because I saw all the intelligence reports. All of them indicated we had imminent danger."

Thus, the WHYGRR Media Bullsh*t Meter will remain at "TOTAL."

And Syria is among the More Progressive Dictatorships in the Middle East...

From the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs - A report on "honor killings:"

DAMASCUS, 23 Oct 2005 - It was Huda Abu Assaly’s wedding day, and the house was full of relatives and well-wishers. But instead of going to her would-be husband's house after taking her vows, Huda died before the festivities were over.

It all started when the 23-year-old Muslim, secretly married a Christian man she had met while studying at Damascus University. When informed of the wedding, Huda’s family – after recovering from the shock – convinced her to return to her hometown of Sweidah, some 100 km south of the capital.

She was forgiven, they told her, and promised a proper wedding ceremony, to be thrown in her home.

On the wedding day, in late August, however, Huda was stabbed and shot to death by her brother for betraying the family’s honour.

Despite the grim circumstances, festivities went on as planned, with the family receiving guests amid joyous ululations as the ambulance carrying Huda's body pushed its way towards the local hospital.

Democrats: "Please make this video go away."

Democrats Demand Second Investigation into Weather Forecasting Failures

"Al Roker clearly stated 7 times prior to Saturday that it would rain. It was beautiful and sunny all weekend and we want answers," demands Senate Minority Leader Reid.

"Do you think it's a coincidence that Roker has ties to the big umbrella industry? I don't think so, nor do the American people.

Clearly this information was manipulated to persuade the public into thinking it was going to be raining in much of the country last weekend," Harry Reid (D-NV) continued.

Moderate, reasonable, and safe Republican John McCain (R-AZ) defended Roker but demanded accountability, "“Many weathermen were wrong about last Saturday, but the buck has to stop with the guy atop the weather chain of command, Mr. Roker."

An embattled Roker defended his decision to call for rain, "Fourteen other networks called for rain. I'd still make that call today if the data were in front of me. It would have been careless to ignore those thunderheads."

Former Today Show weatherman, Willard Scott seemed unimpressed with Roker's explanation, "This storm data was manipulated. The American people deserve a weatherman who will tell them the truth about when it's going to rain."

Below: the weather data in question:

Direct Hit: The President's Defense of the War Draws Rebuke from Mainstream Press

When did the Associated Press become The Onion?

Tom Raum of the AP gets it more wrong, more often than any news item I've read all year with his unintentional satirical piece today, Bush Risks Alienating GOP Over Iraq War - proof positive that Democrats and their media are worried the public will be reminded that their prior vocal support of the war was totally dependent upon its popularity.

By reminding Democrats how aggressively they argued that the President disarm Hussein, Raum editorializes, "the administration has been engaging in a rhetorical high-wire act in its efforts to defend its use of prewar intelligence..." Hmm....risky indeed to point out the hypocrisy of those who demanded action then ran away from when polling indicated a drop in support. Who is at risk exactly?

Raum categorizes the President's use of the Democrats' own words simply as "painting the Democrats as hypocrites." How about a phone call to Senators Durbin, Kerry, Clinton, Byrd, and company instead to ask them why they flipped, waffled, and rolled? It's either incompetence or lying at this point to claim you were misled.

These "attacks", as Raum calls them may backfire. He mentions too that even Donald Rumsfeld has "joined the fray" to distract voters from an un-indicted Karl Rove. This piece was not on the editorial pages. It was the first item of AP's front page.

In other words, "Democrats and the press can call you a liar, but defending yourself is beyond decency." There are very few things worse than war itself, but weakness and betrayal are among them.

Raum tips his hand further when he warns the president he may risk alienating moderate Republicans. Oh no!! Not the moderates! Appease them at any cost, lest they tell Chris Mathews and Don Imus about it. How dare the President resort to alienating the darlings of the MSM - the courageous maverick Republicans?

The moderates need to worry about the Conservative base, Mr. Raum. Otherwise, I would change the name of this site to "Where Have You Gone, Gerald Ford?"

Stay tuned - we're in for some hysterical, girly shrieking from Democrats and their media in response to the President's new defense of him self and the war.

Why exactly?
It’s been said that people get upset when you lie about them. However, they become outraged when you tell the truth about them.

It's About Time: The President's Counter-Offensive Continues

"Some of our elected leaders have opposed this war all along. I disagree with them, but I respect their willingness to take a consistent stand. Yet some Democrats who voted to authorize the use of force are now rewriting the past. They are playing politics with this issue and sending mixed signals to our troops and the enemy. That is irresponsible.

Reasonable people can disagree about the conduct of the war – but it is irresponsible for Democrats to now claim that we misled them and the American people. Leaders in my Administration and members of Congress from both parties looked at the same intelligence on Iraq – and reached the conclusion that Saddam Hussein was a threat.

In early 2004, when weapons inspector David Kay testified that he had not found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, he also testified that, quote, “Iraq was in clear material violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1441. They maintained programs and activities, and they certainly had the intentions at a point to resume their programs. So there was a lot they wanted to hide because it showed what they were doing that was illegal.”

Eight months later, weapons inspector Charles Duelfer issued a report that found, quote, “Saddam Hussein so dominated the Iraqi Regime that its strategic intent was his alone. He wanted to end sanctions while preserving the capability to reconstitute his weapons of mass destruction when sanctions were lifted."

As our troops fight a ruthless enemy determined to destroy our way of life, they deserve to know that their elected leaders who voted to send them to war continue to stand behind them. Our troops deserve to know that this support will remain firm when the going gets tough. And our troops deserve to know that whatever our differences in Washington, our will is strong, our nation is united, and we will settle for nothing less than victory."

John Hawkins of Right Wing News believes the President's timing is planned. Could he be on to something here?

"Bush allowed the Democrats to throw everything the had at him for an entire year. They called him a liar, he said nothing. They were shrill, contradicted themselves, and became increasingly hypocritical and yet, Bush said nothing.

Now that the Dems have gotten way up high in the tree and way out on a branch, Bush is whipping out the hacksaw and getting to work. It would have been great if he'd gotten started on this a couple of months ago, but sometimes patience is a virtue, and because Bush took his time, he's going to be particularly effective at cutting these liberals down to size -- and oh yeah -- it'll be a lot of fun watching him do it."

McCain on Torture Ban: "What this country needs is more redundant, feel-good, placebo legislation."

"I'll turn down no talk show invitation in my quest to further insult the intelligence of the American voter," declares courageous maverick.

"I'm asking every American to help me and Senators Kennedy, Kerry, Durbin, Hagel, and Reid to ignore existing restraints and oversights already in place, turn the isolated actions of a few into the perceived standard operating procedure of the American military, and most importantly to hamstring those in charge of legally extracting sensitive information from our enemies."

Car Burnings down from 1400 to 1200 Overnight thanks to Iron-Fisted French Crackdown

Paris Police Begin Aggressive Block-by-Block Distribution of White Flags

Authorities may resort to
taunting should rioters not "calm down."

Democrats on Cue: "We Were Misled about Iraq."

The apparent foreign policy talking points of the Democratic Party: (reposted from August)

Who needs principles when you've got polling?
  • Support the war and make compelling cases for use of force provided it’s popular.
  • Articulating threats is risky politically. Responding to realized threats is not.
  • Support military conflict provided it's winnable quickly.
  • Rush to defend any peoples in danger provided Europe agrees and domestic elections are not within one year.
  • Rush to defend any strategic US interests provided Europe agrees and domestic elections are not within one year.
  • Use caring, empathetic language for those oppressed or killed behind iron curtains. This placebo approach can be couched in soaring rhetoric to persuade others of sincerity and earnest intents - very safe politically.
  • The UN is the perfect forum for the above. Voting and debate on suffering plays well in US and world media.
  • Remain keenly aware that Americans do not care about suffering they do not see (i.e. pre-invasion Iraq).
  • Americans care a great deal about suffering they do see on TV (i.e. post-invasion Iraq) and will hold US forces as responsible for violence they perceive as new.
  • Express vague, lofty concerns throughout beginning of conflict – politically safe and does not preclude you from claiming victory as your own or failure as someone else’s.
  • Stand proudly behind any quick victory pointing to original support.
  • Distance yourself from any sudden failures pointing to your original concerns.
  • Protracted battle requiring sacrifice of blood or political capital is not advised - better to suffer a short, sharp defeat and exit theatre quickly.
  • Short battle failures can be dismissed as the failure of subordinates.
  • Most short battle failures will be forgotten as quickly as the next scandal or missing teen story.
  • Short battle failures may even be termed successes should original objective have not been clarified in detail.
  • Do not run the risk of articulating a vision. Vision may run afoul of changing public opinion and is considered retrograde by media.
  • Conversely, as public support wanes, refer to the pre-war status quo as peaceful and not a threat.
  • Do not address specific pre-war threats to Iraqi citizens, Americans, regional neighbors, or Israel. We do not believe public is informed enough to sustain attention on these topics.
  • The moment Europe or the electorate begins to fatigue on realities of armed conflict; distance yourself from our original support reiterating how you were misled.
  • If a clear scapegoat is available, place blame quickly. Use polling data to ascertain “jumping off point” and begin citing lies disseminated by your political opponents to start an unjust war.
  • When questioned about original support for conflict, explain original support as naïve trust.
  • At every opportunity, decry abuses of your trust and the American People’s trust.
  • At every opportunity, decry missed opportunities to build non-existent coalitions.
  • As opinion polls dip below 50%, deploy base to advocate retreat and silence any supporters of war effort.
  • If immediate retreat is not feasible, demand artificial timelines, politically motivated timetables, and withdraw based upon non-tactical considerations.
  • Refer to enemy prisoners of war as "detainees." This frames their capture as a law enforcement matter and suggests entitlement to attorneys and protections of US courts.
  • Should situation continue to deteriorate, claim moral high ground by being first to demand an end to unjust war.
  • Should situation improve, silence retreat advocates. Claim credit for good news items citing your original support.
  • Qualify success or failure daily based upon media reported body counts.
  • Be advised that major media will report primarily on the operational efficiency of the enemy (car bombings, suicide attacks, kidnappings, beheadings, etc…) and their death tolls.
  • Media will not report on successful American raids, attacks prevented, diplomatic successes, “hearts and minds” activities, school openings, hospitals opening, infrastructure improvements, etc… Reporting American activities in positive light may jeopardize objective observer status.
  • Use restraint when voicing support for American forces or reciting good news items seen online or in alternative media sources. This will be perceived by many in our base as cheerleading and is dangerous politically – not advised within one year of election.

New Poll: What Concerns Conservatives Most Regarding the President's Leadership?

President Bush has the respect and support of almost all Republicans including those who identify themselves as Conservative.

This support he enjoys from his base is not without reservation or limitation, however. Conservatives I know expressed regret that Harriet Miers took the brunt of our collective frustration last month. This is unfortunate and unintended. Ms. Miers is one of the most accomplished women in the country. But, this does not make her the right choice for the court.

No, Harriet Miers really didn't do it. My frustration with the White House really began with the President's proven inability to articulate the war effort since before the conflict began. Any blogger to the Right of The Daily Kos does better outlining the motivations, rationale, alternatives, etc...of our liberation effort in Iraq. Pre-emption worked, democracy now has a foothold among twenty-two other dictatorships in the region and there are thousands of success stories there every month. It's time we started talking about the war this way. This means you and your staff too, Mr. President.

My frustration only recently escalated meaningfully with the President taking blame for every real and imaginary Katrina response failure. He allowed the Left to blame him, Conservatives overall, racism, Mike Brown, etc...for the plight of Louisiana's flood-stricken poor without once mentioning Nagin or Blanco or sixty years of failed Liberalism along the Gulf Coast.

My frustration peaked, however, with his public rebuke (via
Scott McClellan) of Bill Bennett - a loyal friend, ally, and victim of one of the most savage assaults by the thought police at the DNC,, and their accomplices in the media. This smacked of weakness, political expediency, and a complete lack of awareness to how limited free speech is right now in this country. What happened to Bill Bennett happens everyday in little ways to high school and college students when they dare to speak their minds - even if only to illustrate absurdity. Orwell's 1984 has arrived twenty-one years late, but arrived nonetheless, Mr. President.

Venting the primary reasons for my contribution to the Conservative Crackdown of 2005 is therapeutic, but I want to know the thoughts of the Republican base. I'm still not crazy about the state of immigration, energy policy, spending, etc...
Take a look at the poll under my profile in the top right hand corner and register your opinion. You can vote and speak your mind here at WHYGRR - at least for now.

Separatist Riots in France: Paris Today - Los Angeles Tomorrow

France's ultra-Liberal immigration policies allow north African immigrants to move into and around the country with ease and to remain a permanent underclass outside the French economy and its benefits.

(AP Photo/Remy de la Mauviniere)

Neither compassionate nor effective....sound familiar?

Victor Davis Hanson from 2002 on the perils of multiculturalism and its logical end, balkanization:
"The tragedy is that though illegal aliens come here hoping to succeed, most get no preparation for California's competitive culture. Instead, their activist shepherds herd them into ethnic enclaves, where inexorably they congeal into an underclass. The concept of multiculturalism is the force-multiplier that produces this result: it transforms a stubborn problem of assimilation into a social calamity."

Amir Taheri writes this week in The NY Post: (via Catallaxy)
"Within hours, the original cause of the incidents was forgotten and the issue jelled around a demand by the representatives of the rioters that the French police leave the “occupied territories." By midweek, the riots had spread to three of the provinces neighboring Paris, with a population of 5.5 million."
